Joining the AA as Finance Manager – Consumer Income, you will play a key role in the financial accounting of the AA’s largest business unit and most significant revenue stream, Roadside Consumer.

Within this role you will support the Roadside Financial Controller to ensure accurate management accounting and financial reporting across the Roadside Consumer division. This role will work to ensure governance and control over all numbers produced and maintain the accuracy and integrity of the accounts. 

What will I be doing?

  • Oversee the month-end process for the Roadside Consumer division, ensuring accurate financials and insightful analysis.
  • Lead the balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining rigorous financial control and reviewing the work of others.
  • Team management, leading a high performing team to achieve goals and deliverables, while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, challenging and refining complex systems and month-end procedures.
  • Meet critical deadlines for month-end and reporting tasks, delivering essential information to the FP&A team.
  • Act as the primary finance contact for external auditors, providing expert responses and managing audit interactions.
  • Direct the Consumer Income IFRS17 activities, ensuring compliance and accuracy in monthly and year-end tasks.
  • Compile and review the quarterly RMAR return, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy before FD sign-off.

What do I need?

Capability, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Expertise in month-end management, with a flair for delivering incisive analysis and commentary on financial results.
  • Demonstrated expertise in liaising with external auditors during critical year-end and interim audits.
  • Strong technical proficiency with tools such as Excel, VBA, SQL, and ERP systems such as SAP and BPC.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and a track record of managing comprehensive month-end processes.
  • Proven leadership in guiding a team of high-performing professionals.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent)
