Road Operations
Our Road team consists of Roadside Mechanics, Mobile Mechanics and Recovery Drivers who spend their days out and about in their fully equipped AA yellow vans and recovery trucks.

ROADSIDE MECHANIC
- If you hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or the equivalent experience), you could join the AA as a Roadside Rescue Mechanic.
- We’ll put your excellent diagnostic and repair skills to work, as you fix our customers’ vehicles at the side of the road.
- It’s essential that you bring a full category B driving licence (with 6 points or less) and you’re happy to work shifts (which will include evenings, weekends and bank holidays).
MOBILE MECHANICS
- If you have an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or the equivalent experience), you could join the AA as a Mobile Vehicle Mechanic.
- We’ll welcome your people and problem-solving skills, as you fix and service our customers’ vehicles on their driveway.
- It’s important that you bring a full category B driving licence and you’re happy to work shifts, 8am – 8pm , Monday to Saturday.
RECOVERY DRIVERS
- If you have an HGV 2 licence and you’re calm in a crisis, you could join the AA as a Recovery Driver.
- When our customers break down, you’ll provide calm, professional support as you recover their vehicle.
- You’ll need a Driver CPC qualification, a digital tachograph card and you’re happy to work shifts (which will include evenings, weekends and bank holidays).
