Step into the role of Legal Counsel at the AA and become a cornerstone in our legal framework, expertly guiding regulated contracts. Your role, reporting to the Head of Legal – Financial Services, will be vital in drafting and advising on pivotal contracts, shaping our strategic partnerships and future.

What will I be doing?

  • Navigate new ventures with day-to-day legal advice, infusing commercial insight and operational acumen.
  • Manage legalities adeptly for regulated entities, spearheading key B2C and B2B commercial projects.
  • Collaborate closely with Group Risk and Compliance, ensuring regulatory matters are handled with expertise.
  • Enhance legal operations by driving best practices and efficiencies, setting the standard for legal excellence.
  • Champion new regulations, playing a pivotal role in their application and implementation, shaping the legal landscape.

What do I need?

Capability, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience in advising FCA regulated businesses in the drafting and negotiation of regulated commercial contracts.
  • Understanding of insurance distribution's technical aspects.
  • Knowledge of insurance underwriting and regulated financial services products, including consumer credit and hire.
  • Effective communication skills to convey advice clearly across all business levels, including senior leadership.
  • Stakeholder engagement skills to navigate commercial and regulatory outcomes successfully.
  • Background in financial services, whether in-house or private practice, is required.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Professional qualification in Law (LLM or LLB or similar).
