This is the job

We’re looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Head of Financial Modelling to join our Finance team. Reporting directly to the Director of FP&A, you will play a key leadership role in driving the Group’s annual Five-Year Plan (5YP) process.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of developing, maintaining, and continuously improving a dynamic and resilient Group financial model. This model is a critical asset, enabling the business to quickly identify financial trends and support data-driven strategic decision-making.

Beyond model stewardship, you’ll also lead initiatives to elevate financial modelling and reporting standards across the wider Finance function - enhancing analytical capabilities and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

What will I be doing?

  • Lead the Group 5-Year Plan (5YP) Process: Own the development and management of a robust, KPI-driven financial model to support strategic planning and scenario analysis.
  • Drive Business Unit Engagement: Ensure Business Units are accountable for their input assumptions and forecasts, fostering alignment and ownership across the organisation.
  • Deliver Strategic Insights: Create high-impact presentations that translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for executive stakeholders.
  • Support Treasury and Capital Planning: Collaborate with the Treasury team on credit rating assessments and refinancing strategies through detailed financial analysis.
  • Enhance Financial Modelling Capabilities: Lead initiatives to improve modelling and reporting standards across the Finance function, promoting consistency and analytical excellence.
  • Contribute to Strategic Projects: Provide modelling and analytical support for M&A evaluations, external stakeholder presentations, and other high-priority initiatives.

What do I need?

  • Advanced Excel Proficiency: Expert in building and managing complex financial models and conducting in-depth data analysis.
  • Strong FP&A Background: Proven experience in Group Financial Planning & Analysis within large, complex multi-product/unit organisations.
  • Strategic Business Partnering: Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Executive-Level Communication: Skilled in creating and delivering clear, concise presentations for executive audiences.
  • Analytical and Commercial Acumen: Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to balance financial rigour and strategic insight.

  • Worksave pension scheme with up to 7% employer contribution
  • Free AA breakdown membership from Day 1 plus 50% discount for family and friends
  • Discounts on AA products including car and home insurance
  • Employee discount scheme that gives you access to a car salary sacrifice scheme plus great discounts on healthcare, shopping, holidays and more
  • Company funded life assurance
  • Diverse learning and development opportunities to support you to progress in your career
