As our HR Consultant you will support the People Director and HR Business Partner team in delivering strategic people initiatives and core HR activity such as performance management, colleague engagement, and annual salary reviews. This generalist role contributes to driving performance and aligning people practices with business goals.
Working closely with specialist HR teams, the role leads and supports projects including organisational change and transformation. It’s ideal for someone proactive and collaborative, with strong communication and planning skills, eager to grow their HR expertise in a dynamic, people-focused environment.
We’re also committed to professional development—support towards CIPD qualification is included, helping to build capability for future career progression.
What will I be doing?
- Support the HR Business Partner team in delivering key HR projects and people initiatives across the business.
- Partner with centres of excellence to advise on reward, organisation design, employee relations, talent, change, engagement, TUPE, and development.
- Influence adoption of HR best practices and guide effective people management aligned with business goals.
- Use your technical skills to analyse HR data and provide insights that shape strategy and decision-making.
- Deliver core HR activities including performance, talent, succession, pay, absence, and engagement cycles.
- Assist with organisational design and change management to support business transformation.
- Contribute to plans that reduce attrition, enhance engagement, and strengthen employee relations and retention.
- Work with HR colleagues to evolve policies and processes in line with business needs and best practice.
What do I need?
Capability, Knowledge and Experience:
- Proven experience in HR, ideally in a generalist capacity.
- A track record of leading or contributing to successful HR projects and people initiatives.
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working with data and management information (MI), with a keen eye for detail.
- Solid understanding of HR best practices and confidence in advising managers.
- Practical knowledge of employment law and its application in real-world scenarios.
- Broad exposure to core HR areas such as recruitment, talent management, employee relations, reward, and operations.
- Adaptable and resilient, with experience navigating complex HR challenges.
- A genuine interest in growing within HR, with aspirations to progress into an HR Business Partner role.
- Experience of working within in a large matrix organisation.
Education and Qualifications:
- A professional CIPD qualification is advantageous but not essential. We are committed to supporting your development and will provide assistance toward achieving CIPD accreditation, helping to build your capability and support your long-term career progression.
