The role

At the AA, we’re on an ambitious transformation journey, and we’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to help shape and deliver change that really matters.

In this role, you’ll lead the delivery of a portfolio of strategic, commercially significant projects that cut across our business. You’ll have real ownership from day one, guiding projects from concept through to delivery and ensuring they land on time, within budget, and in line with our enterprise governance framework.

Working closely with Transformation Leads and our PMO, you’ll turn complex, enterprise-wide initiatives into clear, workable delivery plans. You’ll break scope into achievable iterations and coordinate delivery across multiple teams including IT, Networks, Data, Digital and Customer Operations. Your ability to bring people together, manage dependencies and keep momentum will be key to success.

This is a great opportunity if you enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your work has visible impact across the organisation.

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience in project management, delivering complex projects end-to-end

  • Confidence working across multiple functions and senior stakeholders

  • Strong planning, organisation and governance skills

  • A pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset with the ability to adapt as priorities evolve

If you’re passionate about delivering meaningful change and want to play a key role in the AA’s transformation, we’d love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

  • Taking ownership of a backlog of approved projects, working closely with a dedicated group of stakeholders to drive delivery and outcomes.

  • Leading projects in line with the AA’s delivery standards and governance framework, ensuring consistency, control and pace throughout.

  • Creating and maintaining robust delivery artefacts, including project plans, RAID logs and financial tracking.

  • Chairing initiative delivery meetings, bringing together a clear, consolidated view of progress, risks and dependencies for cross-functional senior stakeholders.

  • Coordinating and motivating a diverse mix of internal teams and external partners to deliver agreed milestones.

  • Providing clear, confident communication on project status, progress and risks to sponsors, key stakeholders and delivery teams.

  • Managing project finances across capex and opex, ensuring strong governance, cost control and alignment to the monthly financial reporting cycle.

  • Ensuring all project documentation is accurately produced, stored and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Owning project handover and closure, making sure the right level of operational support is in place and all documentation is complete before sign-off.

  • Identifying resource needs early and making recommendations to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.

  • Building strong, trusted relationships with project sponsors and senior leaders, helping shape and facilitate solutions that meet real business needs.

  • Actively contributing to continuous improvement across the team, helping embed consistent, repeatable ways of working and governance.

  • Championing a cross-functional, agile way of working, breaking down silos to enable faster, more collaborative delivery.

About You

You’ll bring strong project management experience (typically 5+ years) delivering IT-enabled change across a range of projects in size and complexity. You’re comfortable working with technical teams and third-party suppliers to shape costed delivery roadmaps, and you have a solid grasp of project financial management, including forecasting and tracking actuals.

You’re experienced in leading cross-functional teams and can adapt your approach across different delivery methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall. You understand the importance of strong governance, with good knowledge of change control, configuration and risk management.

You’ll also bring excellent communication skills, the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset. You’re a quick learner, a natural collaborator and committed to continuous professional development.

A recognised project management qualification (PMP or PRINCE2) is required; knowledge of Scaled Agile is desirable.
