This is the job

Roadside Operations at the AA are entering a bold new chapter. We’re launching a new operating model designed to drive efficiency, accountability, and innovative thinking, with data as our superpower. This is a transformational journey, not a one-off change, and you’ll be part of the team that takes our roadside operation from good to great.

As Senior Product Manager, reporting to the Road Ops Transformation Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our operations. You’ll lead a team of product managers to identify, capture, analyse and document business requirements that underpin the success of our Road Ops of the Future programme. Your insights will ensure business needs are not only understood but met with precision.

You’ll define key artefacts, processes and methodologies, and work closely with the Head of Business Readiness and COO to deliver transformational solutions. Collaborating across IT and business teams, you’ll translate current and future operational needs into clear, actionable requirements for architecture, design and development.

You’ll be the voice of accountability, engaging with business owners to ensure core requirements are captured and working with partners and providers to enhance our core applications. Whether it’s regulatory change, technology future-proofing or introducing new products and processes, you’ll be central to enabling, enhancing and improving how we operate.

What will I be doing?

  • Leading a team of Product Managers to deliver transformational change across Roadside Operations
  • Defining and documenting business requirements, processes, and data product solutions
  • Collaborating with IT and business teams to shape future operational capabilities
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and customer outcomes
  • Supporting investment decisions through detailed analysis and market insight
  • Communicating priorities, risks, and opportunities to senior stakeholders
  • Creating and maintaining a roadmap of change aligned to strategic goals
  • Championing a data-driven culture and encouraging inquisitiveness around data usage
  • Building strong relationships with internal teams and external partners
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and audit requirements

What do I need?

  • Proven experience delivering continuous service improvements
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to motivate and empower teams
  • Extensive knowledge of analytics, change management, and operational governance
  • Experience working with outsourced partners and delivering support solutions
  • Strategic mindset with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and managing complex portfolios
  • Ability to document requirements clearly and drive delivery through others
  • Commercially astute with a focus on value and outcomes
  • Experience in large organisations with complex product sets
  • Knowledge of operations and logistics businesses
