This is the job

We’re transforming our Roadside renewal pricing from the ground up, using the latest in pricing science and machine learning. With enhanced data at our fingertips, we’re looking for a Senior Pricing Analyst to help shape a best in class pricing strategy within our Insurance Roadside Services team.

In this role, you’ll take real ownership of the pricing process, applying advanced techniques to deliver impactful insights. You’ll be supported by a talented pricing team and cutting-edge tools, while also mentoring junior analysts and sharing your findings with key stakeholders across the business. It’s a brilliant opportunity to make your mark in a high-profile, data-driven environment.

What will I be doing?

  • Develop and maintain robust pricing models to optimise renewal performance in line with the AA’s strategic objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance model performance using new data sources, enrichment techniques, and machine learning.
  • Build and validate high-quality datasets, collaborating with Financial Analysts to support lifetime value modelling.
  • Support the Pricing Manager with model deployment, price testing, and implementation activities.
  • Mentor and guide Pricing Analysts to improve team capability and achieve pricing objectives.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations effectively to stakeholders to secure buy-in for pricing strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with wider pricing and data teams to integrate insights into pricing decisions.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in pricing methodologies and analytical approaches.

What do I need?

  • Demonstrable experience and strong technical understanding of insurance pricing models, with expertise in GLMs essential and knowledge of machine learning techniques desirable.
  • Proficient in key software tools including Radar with Optimiser (essential), Radar Live (desirable), EMBLEM or similar modelling software (desirable), programming languages such as SAS, R, Python, or SQL, and advanced Excel.
  • Strong experience in risk pricing, with a proven ability to develop and refine models that accurately assess risk, support underwriting decisions, and drive profitable growth through data-driven pricing strategies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Capable of working under pressure and applying sound judgement to deliver timely and accurate outputs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience applying appropriate techniques to interpret data and solve business challenges.
  • A track record of clearly communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in mentoring or supporting junior analysts (desirable).
