Are you ready to make a significant impact and drive change within a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation? We are looking to recruit an HR Business Partner to provide maternity cover for 12 months supporting our Insurance Division. This is your opportunity to join us at an exciting time on our growth journey, and you will play a key role in helping shape the future of our business working in close collaboration with leaders.

This role is office based and hybrid (3 days in office), based in either Basingstoke, Tunbridge Wells or London, and requiring regular travel to these sites. 

What will I be doing?

  • Transformation & Change: Insurance is undergoing significant change and this is a fantastic opportunity to drive and shape the future organisation.
  • Build Strong Partnerships: Develop and maintain robust relationships with business areas to identify current and future people requirements.
  • Drive People Plans: Lead the delivery of the people plan, ensuring alignment with the overall HR strategy.
  • Consultancy Services: Provide expert consultancy on reward & recognition, organisation design, employee relations, succession planning, talent management, change programmes, performance management, employee engagement, TUPE and acquisitions, and training & development.
  • Influence Best Practice: Encourage the adoption of HR best practices and support effective people management.
  • Strategic Partnering: Partner with leadership teams to influence thinking, provide challenge, and identify opportunities to add value.
  • Enhance Engagement: Contribute to strategic plans to reduce attrition, improve engagement, and enhance employee retention.
  • Effective Communication: Maintain proactive and engaging communication with employee representatives and union officials.

What do I need?

Capability, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience: Proven experience in generalist HRBP roles, preferably within a large blue-chip organisation.
  • HR Expertise: Strong understanding of HR best practices and experience partnering with leaders to influence and deliver business change.
  • Employment Law Knowledge: Excellent practical knowledge of employment law.
  • Successful HR Initiatives: Demonstrated ability to deliver HR initiatives successfully, within budget and agreed timescales.
  • Union Relationships: Experience in building and managing union relationships.
  • Regulated Environments: Knowledge of regulated environments (SMCR, FCA).
  • Outcome Focus: Ability to steer business leaders and drive organisational change.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Professional CIPD Qualification: Essential for this role.
