Teleworking

As a Teleworker, you’ll speak with new and existing customers on the phone, from the comfort of your own home. With your expertise and knowledge, you’ll provide world class service to our members. Every day will feature new challenges, as you assist with breakdowns and queries.

It’s a fast paced and challenging role, so be prepared to answer around 150 calls a day in our busy periods. You’ll be an information point and a problem-solver rolled into one. Your personality will really shine as you help millions of people get the best out of doing business with us.

You’ll be based at home, so you can say goodbye to the daily commute, and say hello to more time for the things you enjoy outside of work.

To make sure you’ve got all the skills and know-how you need to delight our customers, we’ll provide full training. We’ll expect you to attend a 12-week programme to get you up to speed.

For your first three-to-six months, you’ll learn the ropes at one of our sites. Then you’ll need to be able to work from a dedicated room in your home, with a good broadband connection. Once you’re ready, we’ll set you a range of targets, which will be challenging and achievable.

As a Teleworker you will receive a generous flexibility allowance, standby allowance and meal allowance.

This role calls for full flexibility. We’re a 24/7, 365 day a year operation, so you’ll work a range of shift patterns throughout the year. You’ll need to be willing to work some evenings, nights and weekends, on both split and straight through shifts. You’ll also be required to work on standby shifts (200 hours per year), where you may be called and asked to work at any point during your shift times.

If we offer you a Teleworker role, we’ll carry out an assessment of your home. We will provide all of the equipment you need to work from home, including:

• Work computer

• Desk

• Office chair

• Router

• Telephone

• Fire extinguishers

• First aid kit

Although you’ll work independently, you will have monthly one-to-ones with your manager. This will ensure you are achieving targets, check you are generally happy and give you a chance to ask questions. There is also a team of people available to help you any time. You can call or Skype them 24/7.

So what are we looking for?

Enthusiastic, upbeat and professional, you really care about delivering the best service. You’ll either have previous experience of good customer service or a keen understanding of what it’s all about. If you’re in a sales role, we’ll expect you to demonstrate that all important natural sales flair. Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills are really important too.
