Join our team as our Fleet & Leasing Accountant, where you will play a pivotal role to support the Finance Manager – Operations in ensuring accurate management accounting and financial reporting across Fleet Operations.
This role is pivotal in maintaining governance and control over all financial data, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the accounts. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to upholding the highest standards of financial management.
What will I be doing?
- Managing the completion of month-end tasks for the Fleet, including posting journals, controlling accruals and prepayments, and analysing actuals.
- Ensuring the accuracy of the month-end and reporting process, meeting all deadlines, and focusing equally on fleet data reconciliation, review, challenge, investigation, and resolution of fleet data queries, as well as maintaining the quality of data in the fleet accounting system.
- Completing the ROU/lease liability movement schedule for HY and FY disclosure notes.
- Preparing month-end reports with analysis and commentary on financial results, KPIs, balance sheet, and cash flow, ensuring the validity, accuracy, and integrity of the monthly accounts.
- Completing or reviewing all balance sheet reconciliations and financial control requirements for the role, including those in the Fleet and Patrol Operations areas.
- Consolidating forecast and budget submissions from the business and updating FMIS/planning and consolidation systems where relevant, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Reporting cash flow and working alongside the FP&A function to develop cash reporting processes.
What do I need?
Capability, Knowledge and Experience:
- Proven experience in managing month-end tasks, including posting journals, controlling accruals and prepayments, and analysing actuals.
- Experience in completing ROU/lease liability movement schedules for HY and FY disclosure notes, would be advantageous, but not critical.
- Ability to prepare month-end reports with analysis and commentary on financial results, KPIs, balance sheet, and cash flow.
- Proficiency in reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and financial control requirements, particularly in Fleet and Operations areas.
- Experience in consolidating forecast and budget submissions from the business and updating FMIS/planning and consolidation systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Ability to report cash flow and collaborate with the FP&A function to develop cash reporting processes.
Education and Qualifications:
- Part qualified Chartered Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
