At The AA, we’re looking for a Sustainability & Environment Manager to support the delivery of our sustainability and environmental strategy and drive high standards of performance and compliance. You will play a pivotal role in supporting our ESG ambitions and ensuring we meet our Net Zero commitments.

What will I be doing?

• Develop and deliver the ESG roadmap for the AA Group in collaboration with the Head of Sustainability & Environment.
• Influence business units across the Group on sustainability and environmental matters, ensuring buy-in for high-value ESG initiatives.
• Maintain and implement an effective Environmental Management System (EMS) group-wide.
• Horizon scan for ESG-related legislation and ensure the Group is prepared for new requirements.
• Provide advice, guidance, and technical support on sustainability and environmental legislation and compliance obligations.
• Analyse sustainability datasets for statutory reporting, including GHG emissions and TCFD.

What do I need?

• Proven track record in developing ESG roadmaps and strategies within a multifaceted organisation, preferably with experience in a large-scale corporate environment.
• Expertise in Environmental Management Systems (EMS), encompassing both design and implementation phases.
• Proficiency with ISO14001, particularly in conducting environmental risk assessments and audits.
• Industry experience in sectors such as Industrial, Automotive, Engineering, Construction etc. would be beneficial for this role.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the capability to influence, challenge, and engage individuals at various levels of seniority.
• A strong passion for ESG, coupled with the drive to enact proactive and positive organisational change.
