About the Apprenticeship
Our Patrol Apprenticeships is designed to train the best roadside patrols in the industry. It’s a three year programme which will take you on an amazing journey that will see you grow your engineering skills and your confidence, as you learn to deliver excellent customer service to our customers.
What will I be doing?
Throughout you’ll be working towards your Level 3 NVQ qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, the industry leading certificate for mechanics. Based in a garage within reasonable travelling distance to your home, you’ll learn about diagnosing faults, simple parts replacement and fixing more complex faults and repairs from experienced technicians. It is very hands on.
The Training Provider: We have partnered with Bosch, the world's largest supplier of advanced electronic automotive systems to deliver our Apprenticeship training. You’ll attend week long block release training at their multi-million pound Service Training Centre (STC) in Uxbridge, London where you’ll learn the theory and knowledge to take back to your garage and implement day to day. There will be approximately 10 weeks of training per year and we will pay for your food and accommodation during this time.
You’ll also attend AA patrol days and orientation days to keep you in touch with what’s going on out on the road & half way through your second year you will start to go out and about regularly with our roadside patrols as part of your phased development.
What do I need?
Some of our apprentices join us with previous technical ability or mechanical training but others join with no experience at all; you will all learn together at the same pace. All you need is a strong interest in working with vehicles or mechanical engineering, plus a valid UK driving licence (or be in the process of getting one).
Not only will you benefit from learning vital skills and gaining a nationally recognised qualification, but you’ll also receive a salary that increases year-on-year as your knowledge grows. Once you’ve finished your third year you’ll have your qualification & be eligible to be out on the road as part of our ‘Development Patrol.’ You’ll also get 23 days paid holiday + bank holidays. Here’s how your salary will look:
- Year 1: £9,000
- Year 2: £10,500
- Year 3: £13,289
- Year 4: £30,000 (TBC)
All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
