"I joined just after having my daughter. She's 25 now, which gives you a fair idea of how much I enjoy working here. I started out working part time to fit in with my childcare arrangements and the company has remained flexible which is something I've really appreciated as I've moved through the company.
"I started off in sales. Over the years I've worked in call handling and set up AA.com and Outbound units. But sales is what I really enjoy, which is why I've now come full circle to my current role. I love the buzz of the whole cycle – seeing new targets start on the first of the month, then the sales push gaining momentum as we near the end of the month. There's a lot of money to be earned for hitting and exceeding targets, so there's plenty of friendly competition and fun rivalry in the office, which creates a great atmosphere. Plus we have regular social events that we all enjoy.
"In my role now I look after about 150 people with 7 Team Managers and the Retention Unit reporting directly to me. Ages range from 17 to 60 in the call centre, which makes life interesting. I think the key to doing my job well is being approachable, available and a good listener. And I'm always keen to offer my staff the same flexibility that's always been shown to me."
