Our legal team is based in Basingstoke and provides comprehensive legal and company secretariat support across all AA businesses.

The team consists of five lawyers, the Deputy Company Secretary, three paralegals, and two support staff.

We also have close links with selected external counsel so that we can provide emergency or specialist support and cover for every legal or regulatory issue that might arise.

The key areas of our work are:

• contract drafting and negotiation, and support for procurement activities

• brand and intellectual-property protection exploitation and enforcement

• member and customer terms, and marketing approval

• data protection compliance and support

• specialist support for lending and insurance businesses, including Consumer Credit Act and Financial Services Authority compliance

• company secretariat activities

• Competition Law compliance

• training and awareness of legal and regulatory issues affecting the AA
